Brief review: Originally published in 1923, it is known as the Gibran's best work. It offers timeless wisdom on matters like love, pain, laws, freedom, time, friendship, beauty, religion and many more. It is short yet powerful. I have read this a few times and I would very strongly recommend this book to everyone having interest in philosophy.

Motivation, Self Help
My recommendation: 9 / 10
Date read: 4th Jul'17
Brief review: This book is inspired by the thoughts and writings of some great leaders and philosophers like, Marcus Aurelius, Heraclitus, Virgil and others. As the title suggests, Ryan believes that through the obstacles, there is a way. We need to recognize our power, control emotions, alter perspectives and to think differently. Ryan uses examples of great men in history who defied all challenges and marched ahead. John Rockefeller became the wealthiest American simply by his discipline of perception. Rubin Carter, a top contender for middleweight title, recognized his power and spent every minute to fight his own case to walk out of prison after nineteen years. Ryan is an authority and proponent on stoic way of living. Strongly recommended.

Non Fiction, Psychology
My recommendation: 8 / 10
Date read: 18th May'17
Brief review: Dan Ariely makes an excellent case to prove that we think irrationally. We think we are in control but we are not. You will relate to so many examples he gives. Why our headaches persist after taking a cheap painkiller but disappear when we take a more expensive one? Why dealing with cash makes us more honest? Why the mind gets what it expects? Why we are happy to do things, but not when paid to do them? A well researched book and interesting read. I am sure you would like this. If you do, also read 'The Art of Creative Thinking' by Rolf Dobelli.

Brief review: Without a doubt, Henry Ford was an industrial genius whose contributions to industry changed the world. He was a thinker much ahead of time and his innovative ideas gave him a place in history. The book gives an account of his life through various challenges and success. It captures the clarity of thought he possessed along with a vision which is unmatched. Published 100 years ago, this book can send shivers to your nerves even today for the decisions he took back then.

Philosophy, Self Help
My recommendation: 10 / 10
Date read: 23rd Mar'17
Brief review: A must read. I cherish the writings of Osho. Each time I read him, I become richer in my thoughts. He was (is) arguably the most profound thinker in the world. In my entire life I have not found anyone else than Osho who could connect the dots so very well about everything. A long read (over 15-20 hours) but can’t be missed. He shakes your thinking, beliefs and acts. He is the fiercest speaker you will ever encounter. A must read. Every word is gold.
