If we don’t win, it doesn’t mean, we lose

Life is not always about winning or losing. It’s about how we play the game. As John Wooden puts it “You can lose when you outscore somebody in a game. And you can win when you’re outscored.” So true.

Every action of ours does not necessary needs to be evaluated on winning or losing. Like that runner who lost the race because she helped another athlete drink water on her way. Like that environmentalist who fights his entire life for the safety of his fellow men in that remote village never heard of. Like hundreds of scientists who dedicated their lives to invent things which never worked out but their study helped others to carry on. Like that man who could not clear his competitive exams because day and night he was beside his dying father who needed him.

Sometime our actions take longer for the results to come. Like thousands of those who sacrifice their lives for the freedom of their country which is achieved years later. They never lost. It just took a bit longer.

If we are not credited with ‘winning’ it doesn’t mean we lose. Doing things to enrich the mankind, playing the game fairly, lending a helping hand to someone who need us, go beyond the definition of winning and losing. As far as we win in our conscience, we never ought to lose.

If we don’t win, it doesn’t mean, we lose.
