I prefer being on time

I have a good habit. I prefer being on time.

Time never stops. Still, many people take it for granted. Some people think being late is a sign of success. Some consider it to be productive. Some do it intentionally to attract attention. Some are obsessed with their ego by making others wait. They are all mistaken. It’s actually the other way round. Being on time is a habit. It shows character. It commands respect. It reflects efficiency.

The habit of being on time is inculcated in me since long. It comes naturally to me. Yes, it is challenging at times. Yes, I do get late sometime. But mostly, I have been able to respect time.

When I call someone to meet me at a specified time, I feel it to be my responsibility to be free by that time so that the other person doesn’t have to wait. When I go to meet someone, I expect the same. Many a times I know if I am on time I will have to wait. It doesn’t feel good but I still prefer to be on time.

Over the years, I have known that certain events always start late. Rather than cribbing, I still prefer to be on time or I have chosen to avoid being part of such events. Being on time has made me disciplined in many other things. It has strengthened my relationship with several people who also like to be on time. It has inspired many others to start being on time.

I respect the other person’s time. I respect my own time. I prefer being on time.
